Our story

Somewhere to belong.

At the heart of Tambayan is a simple belief: a café can be more than somewhere to buy a drink — it can be somewhere to belong.

The word came first

Tambayan is a Filipino word for "a place for hanging out" — the corner where friends gather without needing a reason, where staying long is the point, not a problem. We named the café after the feeling we wanted it to hold.

So Tambayan stands for people who want more than a coffee to-go. It's the neighbourhood spot where the walls are hand-painted and the food and drinks are worth slowing down for. A space that invites you to stay, and meets everyone with the same warmth.

Every line on our walls was painted by hand — a black-and-white world you get to sit inside. It's the same care that goes into every drink: nothing mass-produced, nothing rushed, everything made by someone who wanted it to be good.

Look closer on your visit — there's a wall of love notes left by people who've made this their spot.

The craft

Small-batch, every time

Every drink is made the moment it's ordered. Brown sugar syrup slow-cooked in-house, teas hand-shaken, croffles pressed to order, crinkle cookies baked in ube and matcha.

Our mission is simple: give people a break from their fast-paced routines, and make every visit, bite, and sip feel like a small occasion.

A community café

Locals looking for a place to gather — students, families, friends of friends. The door meets everyone with the same warmth.
Students welcome, twice

We host co-op and practicum students, so the next generation gains real experience behind a real counter.
Beyond the counter

Our coffee cart travels to events and corporate gatherings across the Maritimes. The hangout comes to you.
